Mairangi Medical Centre has provided "cradle to grave" medical care to families and individuals for over 40 years. We offer personalised general practice care, as well as specialised services such as travel consultations (including yellow fever vaccination), minor surgery, ear suctioning, visiting podiatrist, ear/nose/throat specialist, and counselling appointments. Reduced fee consultations for community service card holders and free consultations for children under 14. Measles Outbreak 2019 Measles is a highly infectious, vaccine-preventable viral illness that can be very serious. There is a current outbreak in New Zealand with over 900 confirmed cases, most of which are in Auckland. A third of patients with measles have required hospital admission for treatment. MMR vaccines are currently out of stock, more should be arriving the week of 23/9
- If you’ve had 2 doses of MMR vaccines (after 12 months of age) then you are protected against measles. - Your child can have their first MMR at 12 months (instead of 15 months) - If you are born before 1969 you are considered protected from measles and do not require vaccination - Please check your vaccination records and if you are unsure about having received two MMR vaccinations, please contact our medical centre to book in for a booster.
