Dr Kim Bannister has worked at Mairangi Medical Centre since 1982 - he was the first GP registrar in 1981! Over the years Kim has held roles with the College of GPs and ProCare PHO,  and currently he has a part-time appointment with the Waitemata District Health Board, where he works as a GP advisor. Kim thinks that the best thing about his job as a GP has been the chance to share parts of his patients’ lives, in some cases over several decades. He is currently available for consulting 3 days per week. Dr Kim Bannister is not currently enrolling new patients.

Dr Asima Dervishi: I graduated with medical degree from Otago University in 2008 and after my graduation I moved back to Auckland and I’ve been living on the Shore since. I completed my medical training in the local hospitals, mainly at North Shore Hospital and also spent half a year at Mairangi Medical in 2011 as a trainee GP registrar. I grew up in Bosnia and Herzegovina and came to NZ in October 1993 with my family as a war refugee. I had always wanted to be a GP and I thoroughly enjoy working in the community. In my free time I pursue my hobbies and keep in touch with family and friends.
