Appointments

Each appointment is scheduled for 15 minutes. Some consultations will obviously require more time. If you feel this may be the case, you should advise the receptionist to book for a longer appointment. There is usually an increased cost for longer appointments. However if you have several problems, more time is necessary - 3 problems in 15 minutes leaves only 5 minutes for each problem for: taking a history, examining you, ordering tests, planning management and referrals if necessary. The outcome may be that none of the issues are addressed effectively.

For emergencies, please come straight in or phone an ambulance on 111 if it is serious.

Minor surgery (excisions), medical examination for driving licenses, IUCD fitting, general medicals for insurance, travel appointments and "all over check ups" all require a special appointment, and sometimes a nurse appointment as well. We prefer you to phone for these appointments rather than "dropping in" to be seen. Even if you need to be seen immediately then a quick call allows us to be prepared or direct you to the appropriate service.

We now offer online booking of appointments via Manage My Health but please note that this service is for standard appointments only.
Please continue to phone reception for any of the non-standard categories listed above.

If you’re a new patient, please phone reception for your first appointment so we can begin or complete your enrolment process.

Telehealth Appointment Guidelines
While telehealth appointments (phone or video) offer convenient access to your GP, there are some limitations to what can be done virtually.
For ongoing or complex health issues, or when requesting certain medications, you may be asked to visit your regular GP in person.
Building and maintaining a relationship with your enrolled GP clinic helps ensure you and your whānau receive the best possible care,
continuity, and long-term support.
Please note that certain services, such as medical certificates, require a physical examination
(for example, insurance, driving licenses, or sports) and specialist referrals often require an in-person assessment.
If you are unsure whether your medical concern can be addressed via a telehealth consultation, please contact our nurse line
for guidance at 09 479 5027 ext 2.
