It is important for your new GP to have access to your full medical history. Therefore, we recommend that you schedule your appointment
only after we have received your medical records from your previous GP.

Mairangi Medical Centre is required to have the following to complete your enrolment with us:
Photo ID - Driver’s Licence or Passport.
Evidence of citizenship - NZ Passport or NZ Birth Certificate.
Evidence of eligibility for publicly funded health services.
Southern Cross membership details - If you have General Practice cover.
If your previous GP was overseas, please provide a copy of your medical records, especially your immunisation records.
Kindly be aware that if you reside beyond a 10-kilometer radius, it might not be feasible for our Doctors to conduct home visits due to the practical challenges of travel. In such cases, if you require home visits, we strongly advise considering enrolling in a practice that is closer to your home.
Transferring Medical Records
We recommend that you book your appointment only after we have received your medical records from your previous GP.
While the legal timeline for completing a transfer is 20 working days, each practice may have its own process.
Patients will receive a text confirming that we have received their records.
If you do not receive this text or have any doubts about whether your records have been received, please check with our reception
team before scheduling your first appointment.
New Patients - 1st appointment:
Standard appointment times are 15 minutes, if you are a new patient with either a complex medical history or if you have multiple items to discuss please book a double appointment. If you are unsure if you require a double appointment please phone reception to ask for advice.
One or two issues can be dealt with per 15 min visit, you may be asked to come back if you have multiple issues, or you may be charged
